This has been a productive, and otherwise interesting, week…
Something we’ve been doing in Master Key as a group, is to write out a weekly “service promise” to complete on or before the following Sunday. It doesn’t have to be a big deal, and is actually better if it is not, so the service is all but guaranteed to be accomplished. We are training ourselves to make commitments, write them down, attach a date to them, and teach our subconscious to “trust” that we keep our promises every single time we follow that procedure.
When we first started doing this, I would scramble to get the tasks done on Saturday just before it was due, but now I’m getting the tasks done almost immediately… This week, I not only got my task (cleaning off a specific office shelf) done on Monday, I also got everything on that shelf organized into newly purchased, properly labeled notebooks yesterday! (I’m pretty proud of myself, but decided to blog about it since my arm is getting tired from patting myself on the back.)
On the flip side, this week’s “Haanel” has been quite an interesting read to say the least! I usually highlight a few sentences, underline others, then I may cross through a line or word which, while explaining the concept from a negatively slanted angle, adds nothing to the understanding of its meaning.
Well, this week I’ve done the same thing, but in addition I actually crossed out Five Entire Paragraphs! I tried reading paragraphs 12 – 16 (twice) with an open mind, but felt as if my brain was being stabbed with daggers and I just couldn’t take it any longer. Considering the book was first published in 1910, what is mentioned (warned against) is pretty understandable in context of the times, but – oh – my – lordy!
For those of you not reading Haanel (The Master Key System), I won’t be going into further detail, but I invite you to get the book if you’re interested in learning a lot of WONDERFUL life changing concepts; and perhaps even quell your curiosity on what I’m talking about above… May Peace, Love and Success be yours!
