I’ve found myself slacking off recently, and have not been consistent in completing my readings daily. I’ve also fallen behind on my blogs, but I must say I’m quite thrilled to discover I am only two weeks behind when I thought I was behind three.
We had a break in week 14 because of Christmas, and I guess I really took the break seriously. However, one of our “assignments” was to pick and watch a movie from a list we were given; each movie highlighting a ‘Hero’s Journey.’ I chose “The Good Lie,” and one thing I quickly noticed about this movie was how there was not just one Hero’s Journey involved, but there were actually several… Which, I suppose is true for many movies, and life in general.
One thing I didn’t realize when I chose to watch the film, was it concerned the second Sudanese Civil War, so there were obviously difficult scenes to watch, but – without giving a full review of the film – I’ll say it was worth the time spent watching it, and it had many redeeming and gratifying moments.
